What magazine, website, secret list of actual business possibilities, list of franchise ownership opportunities, etc. can I refer to in order to find ways to make a good start and not some ridiculous online scam for network marketing, ebay, google or some other online scam? How can I find out the many ways to invest my money properly and make good business decisions?
Dr. Charles King (MBA from Harvard) actually outlined Four Basic Business Principles to look for in ANY type of business.
1. Huge Expanding Market – i.e. not Toothpaste
2. Unique and Consumable Product – Exclusivity and the Consumer Uses up and Repurchases
3. Timing – Following economic trends (PCs, Internet, SUVs, Health and Wellness**)
4. Leverage – Working together and not by yourself. Businesses have leverage because many different people are working together.
Entrepreneur.com is an EXCELLENT source of all things business whether you want to do franchising, network marketing, small business, start a corporation, or start an online business.
Personally I like the idea of network marketing because I believe it is the fairest form of business and compensation, but I know this is not for everyone.

I would suggest to start with your personal strengths and weaknesses. You should start business in a field where you have bigger strengths. For instance, it is not wise to start a web design company if you are not expert in Photoshop or CorelDraw software.
When you have chosen the industry look for the competitors and figure how you will beat them. You need to have a serious advantage over them in order to succeed.
When you find such niche then prepare a business plan. While preparing it you will be forced to think of many details and key functions of your future enterprise. And still you have not lost any money.
Finally present your business plan to somebody you know for having experience of opening a new business. I did these twice prior to start my business in 2002 and lost no money. When you are ready with your plan I would be happy to assist you further.

Hey man, I’m glad I found this question! Actually there are SOO many ways to make money, since we live in the age of information, unlike our parents. They are used to traditional, work hard, go to school, get good grades, get into a good college, and get a good job so you can retire with the money you saved up. The first thing to remember is that you don’t want to be a wannabe entrepreneur. Either you are an entrepreneur or you’re not. It is important to have that mind-set when taking on any type of business possibilities or options. Pursue your interests and what you know best. Not all online money making efforts are scams. The reason many people see them to be scams is because they did not fully follow the blueprint or gave up to soon. It takes time, patience, dedication, effort and ambition on your behalf if you want to be successful in making this type of money. Do your research and you’ll find that everything is close or near the same. I wish you the best and good luck on your efforts.
