Parents taught us responsibility in all manner of life. We learned early that we had to save to buy what we NEEDED. Notice I said needed not wanted. We set our goals, develop a budget and set about making it happen. Be it a second job, educating ourselves on finances and asking advice before we act.
Lacking today is also schools failure to instruct in basic finances.
Fifth grade we were taught budgeting, savings acct., checking accts.
We entered the workforce with the basic skills needed to suceed.
